Schedule workflow: background

  • The coordination of deadlines and their timeliness are essential drivers to bring a project transparently and successfully to the finish line
  • For this purpose, up to four schedules (baseline, customer, plan, supplier) can be maintained in COMAN. Additionally, there is the ACTUAL schedule which is generated by tracking
  • By default, only two schedules are active (baseline and plan), customer and supplier can be added
  • All schedules can be freely configured in their behavior and wording
  • Normally, the baseline schedule at the beginning of a project is frozen after a certain time (e.g. 8 weeks) and can only be changed in COMAN in edit mode
  • Changes in the schedule are then only made in the plan schedule, depending on the project definition, the process may follow certain formalities
  • In COMAN, there is the right to edit the planned schedule (if a supplier does not have this right, he cannot change any dates). However, changes in the schedule are the rule and not the exception (depending on the process) and should therefore also be communicated accordingly by the supplier in COMAN.
  • Through the RampUp curves over all schedules, COMAN offers a quick overview of the schedule situation at any time
  • If certain dates may not be changed by the supplier, COMAN offers the possibility to define this transaction-related
  • The more formal way of coordinating appointments with COMAN between the client and the contractor is made possible by the COMAN schedule workflow
  • The workflow is based on three schedules, e.g. "supplier schedule", "plan schedule" and "baseline schedule"
  • Basically, supplier and plan schedules are active in COMAN, which can be synchronized by the users via the progress table, for example
  • The supplier is free to change the supplier schedule, but the evaluation of the current project progress is based on the planned schedule
  • The planner can transfer the supplier schedule to the plan schedule if the schedule changes are valid
  • COMAN offers certain basic functionalities for this process, which are available in the progress table
  • Usually there is already a preconfigured profile in the progress table
